*These timeframes refer to the period your application is at a passport agency or center and do not include mailing times. It may take up to 2 weeks for your application to arrive at the agency and up to 2 weeks for you to receive your passport after it's mailed. 

For travelers with urgent international travel within 14 calendar days, an in-person appointment at a passport agency or center is required. Appointments can be scheduled online or by calling the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778. 

Please note that expedited service is not available for online renewals.

Given these timelines, it's advisable to renew your passport well in advance of any planned international travel. Many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
